Broadside Array Gain

December 5th Fact-of-the-Day

The power gain of a broadside array of antenna elements is almost exactly proportional to array length provided that the array length exceeds one or two wavelengths and the antenna elements are not spaced more than a critical spacing beyond which large radiation side lobes form in directions other than broadside. The power gain of a broadside array is nearly independent of the number of broadside elements so long as both these conditions are met. ©2004 Tigertek, Inc. All rights reserved.
