RF Linear Amplifiers

SSB, FM and FSK transmitters nearly always have low-level modulators. AM transmitters can have either low- or high-level modulators. Except where modulated signal amplitudes convey no information, as with FM or FSK, one or more linear amplifiers must be used to amplify the output of a low-level modulator to minimize amplitude distortion of the modulated signal. ©2004 Tigertek, Inc.
