Harmonic TrapsSeptember 11th Fact-of-the-Day
Antiresonant (parallel-tuned) circuits connected in series with an RF transmission line at current antinodes are very effective in reducing a single harmonic frequency to which they are tuned if extreme care is taken to shield them so they cannot radiate harmonic energy. High harmonic currents circulate through and high harmonic voltages develop across such antiresonant traps. They can radiate significant amounts of harmonic energy unless they are properly shielded. ©2004 Martek International All rights reserved.
