Isotropic Antenna

September 15th Fact-of-the-Day

An isotropic antenna is an antenna that radiates or receives equally well in all directions. Practical antennas that are perfectly isotropic do not physically exist. However, an imaginary antenna that is perfectly isotropic is commonly used as a theoretical reference against which the performance of practical antennas can be compared. ©2004 Tigertek, Inc.
