Flat Ribbon Resistance

A flat rectangular strip (ribbon) conductor has a lower RF to DC resistance ratio than a solid round wire of the same cross-section if the frequency is high enough to have an appreciable resistance ratio. However, a flat rectangular conductor has a higher RF to DC resistance ratio than would be obtained if it was formed into a tube of the same cross-sectional area and the same wall thickness. ©2004 Martek International All rights reserved.
