Parabolic Antenna Reflectors
September 9th Fact-of-the-DaySome people may think parabolic reflector antennas are relatively new. However, in 1932 René Darbord explained in Reflecteurs et Lignes de Transmission pour Ondes Ultra Courtes, L'Ondes Électrique, Vol 11, p.54 that a parabola can be used to concentrate radiation from an antenna located at its focus to form a beam in the same way that a searchlight reflector produces a light beam. ©2004 Martek International All rights reserved.
