Bazooka ant as inverted V ??

by W7WJH » 11 Oct 2006, 23:32

I recently moved to a new QTH and need to erect a bazooka that I've had good luck with. However I'm short on space. Can I erect the bazooka as an inverted V???

Inverted-V Bazooka Antenna

Sure... A Bazooka Antenna will work fine as an inverted-v. Of course, as with other dipole antennas, the resonant length will be different than with a straight-wire configuration.

Bazooka Inverted-V Dipole Bandwidth

The useful bandwidth also will be narrower if the two legs of Bazooka dipole angle down to form an inverted-v than it would be if they were straight.
