Your IP address isn't blocked.

Try the following:

1. Close any open Internet Explorer windows.

2. Start Windows Media Player.

3. Find the "Tools" menu (some WPM skins and display options hide the menu)

4. Select "Options" from the "Tools" menu.

5. Click the "Network" tab near the upper-right corner of the "Options" dialog box.

6. Click the "Configure" button.

7. Make sure the Proxy settings option "Use proxy settings of the Web Browser" is selected (unless you have an unusual situation where media must be streamed via a special proxy server).

8. If you changed the Proxy settings, click Ok, Ok, exit Windows Media Player, go to http://www.smeter.net/slc/audio.php, and let me know whether that fixed the problem.

No; it was already set correctly, so I made no changes.

The audio codec used by those recordings is the same as is used for live audio streaming. The only difference is that live streaming uses MMS, the Multimedia Messaging Service protocol. Maybe internet security software you are using, a firewall you are using, a wireless router, a DSL or cable modem, or your ISP is blocking MMS protocol.
