I need an Historian...

by rjohnsto » 10 Mar 2009, 22:48

Hi,
Newby to this forum.... I'm attempting to write a few memoirs for my grandkids and am trying to find some information on a piece of equipment I used back in the 80's. I worked in a facility in Saudi Arabia and used to contact aircraft on an odd piece of equipment called a cel-call. I believe it used LF or VLF, maybe SSB band. I'm not certain. Does anyone here know about this type of radio?
thx

Hello Bob,

There are several Radio Communications companies that have manufactured the Sel Call for HF / VHF / UHF two-way radio communications equipment.

Here's a website that explains how Sel Call signaling works:

Best Regards,
