Three tower workers fell 1200 feet to their death from an Iowa Public Broadcasting tower northeast of Oakland, Iowa, Wednesday, May 31, 2006. The accident is believed to be due to failure of a synthetic rope, although the cause is still being investigated.

It is terrible imagining what falling 1200 feet would be like. That is a long way for someone to fall knowing they are headed to certain death.
