I borrowed this from a freind, its a multi band telescopic as you can tell, it works really well on the car, I have been using it on 11 meters.
Are these still available, I'd like to get one when I park in town or at the supermarket I can unscrew collapse and shove it in the glovebox, great.

I have never seen an antenna like that, but it looks interesting for an application I have in mind. Did you ever find a source of supply?

I am not sure, but it seems like Radioshack used to have a similar antenna. Of course, they no longer carry most of the radio products they used to have.

Greetings:
It resembles one of the "Outbacker" antennas made in Austrailia. You can google them and find more info. They are sold stateside by many suppliers. One of our club members has one and finds it very usefull for remote qrp use. I know the antenna's are rated for more power than qrp but that is what he uses it for. He just mounts it onto an old camera tripod and sets the jumper for the correct band and he is off and running.
