The Lebanon receiver media server will be taken out of service for about an hour this afternoon (Saturday, March 3, 2007) to enable some routine diagnostics testing and preventative maintenance.

The Lebanon receiver media server diagnostic testing and preventative maintenance has been completed. The Lebanon receiver is now back in normal operation.

The Lebanon media server hard drives are less than a year old. Even so, the operating system has been posting occasional warnings in the server log that Drive 0 of a redundant RAID Drive Set reports that it may be failing. Despite those warnings, the operating system disk management utility still reports that the drive is "healthy" and a check-disk test run yesterday on all four drives found no problems on any of them.

None-the-less, I have decided to replace Drive 0 today in case something actually is wrong with it. The Lebanon receiver audio stream will be unavailable for a while this afternoon (Sunday, March 4th) while I install and restore files on that new drive.
