Late Saturday night, December 29, 2007, one of the hard disks in a raid array in the Salt Lake City receiver media server failed. The server automatically switched to a good drive containing mirror image copies of all the files and continued to function, but will be vulnerable to failure until the bad drive is replaced.

We have identical new drives in spares inventory, so I am going to take the server out-of-service long enough today to replace the bad drive with a new one and mirror-image everything from the raid array drive that didn't fail to the replacement drive. The drives are huge and loaded with data, so the mirror-imaging process will take several hours. However, unless there are unforeseen problems, the Salt Lake City receiver audio stream will be back up sometime this evening (Sunday, December 30).
