Unable to listen to any receiver

by MajorHavoc » 24 Jan 2006, 15:49

Good day, very excited to have found this community!

Sorry, but the other help entries seem to have problems after getting started - I'm not quite at that point even. ;)

I'm unable to get any S-Meter website receiver to work. I get the JAVA loading animation which is then followed by a small red "x" in the upper, left corner.

My JAVA says it's updated to current.

I'd appreciate any guidance you could offer.

-Thanks

Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player and Windows Required

That can happen if you are not using Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player 9 or 10, and a Windows operating system. Other web browsers, media players, and operating systems are not able to play recent versions of Microsoft Windows Media Streams.

I can receive all the receiver audio streams here with no problems.

Thank you, kindly.

That would be it - as I usually surf on Mozilla. I'll add SMeter.net to one of my few preferred bookmarks that I only bring IE out on special occaision for. ;)

Looking forward to enjoying the community and receivers.

-Best

EDIT: Update - thanks - works like a champ via IE.

I'm new to all this. Would love to listen, but am realizing that as a Mac user, I'm probably out of luck.

Even with all the growing iPod/Mac mania, are you still not able to get the numbers (of interested Mac users) to justify offering some form of access to us folks?

Would a podcast of some sort be possible? Don't quite understand the technical barriers that need to be resolved, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll be able to find a solution at some point.

Till then I'll be patiently waiting to play in the sandbox...

Have fun,
