Receive Times and Frequencies
Juan Pablo's Ten-Tec RX350D is tuned to various ham radio and broadcast
frequencies nightly from approximately 2300 hrs until daylight, Madrid
time. (The time in Madrid is UTC/GMT +2 hours between March 25th and
October 28th.) Outside that time window a Radio Nacional de España
(RNE) public radio broadcast is streamed.
Receiving Antennas
An external 7-meter (23-foot) wire antenna is used to receive
signals below 30 MHz. A 4:1 toroidal balun is used between the antenna
and the receiver to improve the impedance match. An external circular dipole
antenna is used to receive signals in the FM broadcast band.
