Receive Frequencies
This receiver is computer controlled. It sometimes scans VHF and
UHF repeaters in Belgium and France and other times is tuned to various
HF bands using SSB or digital reception modes. When no signal
or background noise is heard, the receiver probably is tuned to a repeater
that is currently inactive and the audio is squelched to suppress noise.
Receiving Antennas
The VHF and UHF receivng antennas are ground-plane verticals installed
approximately 46 feet (14 meters) above ground. A 138 foot (42 meter)
long Windom that is 36 feet (11 meters) above ground is used to receive
the HF bands.
