Receiving Bandwidth Effects

October 6th Fact-of-the-Day

The effects of restricting receiving bandwidths are different for amplitude and frequency modulated signals. Restricting AM or SSB (modified AM) signal receiving bandwidth reduces the maximum frequency response that demodulated intelligence can have. Restricting FM signal receiving bandwidth reduces the frequency deviation that received signals can have without demodulated intelligence waveform distortion. ©2004 Martek International All rights reserved.
