Beverage antennas, one of the most effective types of LF directive receiving antennas, were invented by H.H. Beverage. They were described by Beverage, Rice and Kellogg in The Wave Antenna, Trans. AIEE, 42, in 1923, and then six years later by Bailey, Dean and Wintringham in Receiving System for Longwave Transatlantic Radiotelephony, Bell System Tech.
