Litz Wire

7th Fact-of-the-Day

The RF to DC resistance ratio of a conductor can be made to very closely approach unity at low radio frequencies by making the conductor of a large number of fine strands of wire that are insulated from each other except at the ends where they connect in parallel. That type of wire is termed a Litz or Litzendraht wire. ©2004 Martek International All rights reserved.
